Internal Family Systems Groups
Fall and Spring Semesters
$750

Why a Group? As our human society faces epidemics of loneliness and anxiety, doing healing work with others, in groups, offers a cost effective way to both connect deeply and to build the relationship skills that lead to joy and community in a way that one-on-one therapy cannot. Introduction to Internal Family Systems Fall Semester, 2025 Limited to 10 participants $750 In the group, you’ll learn why IFS has been so effective in areas such as trauma recovery, addiction, anxiety, depression and chronic pain - and how this new understanding of consciousness has the potential to radically change our lives. Here you’ll explore: The IFS revolution—how honoring and communicating with our parts changes our approach to mental wellness The ego, the inner critic, the saboteur—making these often-maligned parts into powerful allies Burdens—why our parts become distorted and stuck in childhood traumas and cultural beliefs How IFS demonstrates human goodness by revealing that there are no bad parts The Self—discover your wise, compassionate essence of goodness that is the source of healing and harmony Exercises for mapping your parts, accessing the Self, working with challenging protectors, identifying each part’s triggers, and more Learn to meet, dialogue with, accept and heal your parts Become a wise and trusted leader for your many parts Discover how working with your exiled parts awakens your capacity for compassion, presence, and unconditional love Groups run for 8 evening sessions scheduled around the Oberlin College semester calendar, plus two optional bonus events. Contact Dr Shults if you would like to form or join a non-student group!
